STEP
SCHEME
Government
of India's STEP is for training of rural women in vocational trades. The
minimum coverage shall be 500 women in three years. The assistance is
available for infrastructure development, training and management of trained
women under cooperative fold.
Government of India have sanctioned STEP Project for Rs.649.464 lakhs under 90% grant in aid scheme. 10% is being borne by the
Implementing Unions namely Salem, Erode, Coimbatore, Dharmapuri , Trichy, Vellore, and Villupuram for organizing 145 Woman Diary Cooperative Societies(WDCS) with 10,000 beneficiaries overr a period of 3 years from 2002 to 2005.
