Details of the Project
|
Since it is 2 years old matured group, the
group is selected for Economic Assistance directly.
All the group members hither to doing this Coconut Leaf
Thatching as:
(a)
Casual Labourer earning Rs.15/- to Rs.25/ day
(b)
Some members invested small amount to purchase coconut leaf
from owners.
By availing loan under this SGSY Scheme for
getting higher rate of return , group decided to:
(1)
Take the Coconut Leaf from the land owners in large scale.
(2)
Members decided to get Coconut Leaf from near by areas also by
transporting using vehicle.
(3)
They decided to take it as Sub Group Activity.
(4)
After availing the loan amount each member taken share of
Rs.10,000/-
(5)
2 to 3 members sub grouped together to pay advance to get
Coconut Leaf throughout the year from landlords.
(6)
The advance varies from Rs.15,000/- to Rs.25,000/-.
(7)
Once in 15 days they are bringing the Coconut Leaf for
thatching.

Economics of the Project
|
One labourer can take 3 bundles (each 12 leaf)
per day.After thatching
on an average they will get 4.5 bundles of finished leaf.

Future Plan to increase the income of members:

- Now
the group as whole decided to sell the thatched
leaf to the nearest mundys situated at Palacode and
Marandahalli 6 Kms and 15 Kms respectively.

By meeting out transportation and coolies on
an average Rs.2.50 earned per bundles.

In the same village another group is under
processing to take up the same activity.
So both the group decided to purchase one vehicle for
transporting the coconut leaf and finished leaf to earn additional
income.

Before availing this loan 6 members were
individual defaulter in bank.So
as to avail the SGSY loan the group paid Rs.45,000/- from Common fund,
now these members paying this amount to sanga every month.

Conclusion
|
At the outset it is observed that the group is
doing the activity successfully, as per the objective of SGSY scheme
the group member will get net income of Rs.2000/- by crossing the
poverty and other hurdles.
